I am Dr. Rita Itondo, a doctoral-prepared, dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Primary Care NP (ANP-C) with over 13 years of experience as a provider in outpatient and inpatient mental health, primary, acute care, and rehabilitation. I am licensed in the state of New Jersey. I completed my Master’s degree in Primary Health from Rutgers University formerly UMDNJ and a Postgraduate certification in Psychiatric Nursing from Wilkes University, PA. I earned my Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) with honors from Rutgers University, NJ. I am deeply passionate about my work and provide comprehensive psychiatric care to adolescents, adults, and the elderly.
I prioritize individualized patient care focusing on the holistic well-being of my patients. My patient-centered approach to mental health and wellness incorporates evidence-based practice, medication management, psychotherapy, and psychoeducation.
With my combined experiences as a board-certified PMHNP and Adult NP, I provide comprehensive outpatient telehealth psychiatric care to patients struggling with depression, anxiety disorders, OCD, ADHD, eating disorders, insomnia, bipolar disorder, mood disorders, schizophrenia and related psychotic disorders, PTSD, and substance use disorders.
